Get Rid of Wrinkles without Surgery or Injections

Microdermabrasion has been growing in the industry due to a combination of its undeniable effectiveness and less invasive procedure compared to the alternative skin-care techniques like plastic surgery, chemical peels and Botox injections.

Without getting too much into the science, the reason microdermabrasion is so effective is because many skin imperfections like fine wrinkle lines and blemishes are located in the stratum corneum, or the outmost layer of the epidermis. Microdermabrasion targets this specifically and removes or breaks up the stratum corneum, the body interprets this as a small injury and then tries to replace the lost skin cells with new, healthy skin cells. The healing brings newer skin cells that look and feel smoother and removes some imperfections like sun damage, blemishes, and fine lines.

According to the article on "How Stuff Works":

Microdermabrasion treatments can be done both at home or in a salon. Professional treatments can cost up to $100-$200 per treatment. Home microdermabrasion is not straightforward though, there are many very low cost machines, but they have very limited results. Check out our article on At Home Microdermabrasion.
